25 Years of FUN!
Posted on August 02, 2014
July 8th, 1989 Castle Fun Park (previously known as Wonderland) opened to the public. Current and original owners Hank and Doreen Wiebe, who previously owned and operated Scandia Amusement Park in Kelowna, BC, moved to the Lower Mainland with a vision of an amusement park even grander than their last.
When the Park originally opened it included only Outdoor Miniature Golf, Jungle Golf, 10 indoor batting cages, video games, an animated stage show (which is now known as the Jungle Jamboree) and a concession. Over the last 25 years the Park has continued to grow with numerous additions and renovations including: Coral Sea Mini Golf, Go-Karts, Bumper Cars, Target Hockey, Soccer Goal Kick, Driving Range, RC Boats, the Tiki Room and we aren’t done yet!
On July 8th, 2014 we celebrated our 25th Anniversary by extending our thanks and appreciation to all our guests.
All Arcade games were only $.25 and all Attractions were only $2.50! Upon entering the Park guests were welcomed with balloons and popcorn while they strolled through the Tiki room enjoying a Historical Walk showcasing all the changes over the past 25 years.
At the end of the tour guests were offered promotional souvenirs such as toy clappers, Frisbees, pens, and mugs to celebrate and remember our milestone (but the chocolate castle cookies were celebrated the most). Face painters and a digital caricaturist were also onsite to entertain those around.
Stay tuned for upcoming events and attractions as we prepare for our next 25 years…
